KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE LIGHT: INTO ANOTHER GARDEN, 2025
Keep your eyes on the light: Into Another Garden (2025) explores the dialogue between light, shadow, and memory, drawing viewers into a soft, immersive garden of shadows. Suspended in ghost fabrics, Fatma Abdulhadi’s illusory garden invites the viewer to flow into the room of the heart, between healing and growth. The work—a shadow garden—becomes a space for pause and repose, where one is invited to embody their inner state of being. Here, a moving light guides us; in keeping our eyes on the light, we journey through time, reflecting on the subtleties of shadow. As one moves through space, the multiplicities of shadows are brought forth: the ghost fabrics, the shadow of self, and the shadow of time. Placed within a silent space at King Abdulaziz Historical District, Abdulhadi’s work is meditative, intimate, and reflective.
